The problem
Modern supply chains run on tight timing. A factory needs parts at the line within an hour, a retailer plans staff around deliveries, and a port charges demurrage when containers wait. Yet freight usually moves through many carriers, each with its own telematics, apps or none at all. Shippers often learn about delays from a phone call, after the damage is done.
Poor visibility wastes time and energy. Trucks idle at docks, staff wait for loads that are late, and emergency shipments are booked to cover gaps. Carbon reporting suffers too: without real data on the route, vehicle and load, companies estimate their transport emissions using generic averages.
The product
The Shippeo Real-Time Transportation Visibility Platform collects tracking data from carriers and systems and turns it into one live view of every shipment. According to investor Faraday Partners, its network integrates with more than 875 TMS, telematics, ELD and ERP systems and connects to more than 258,000 carriers in over 130 countries (Faraday Partners). Its main features are:
- predictive ETAs, calculated by machine learning for each stop;
- exception alerts when a shipment is at risk;
- carrier onboarding automation, so small hauliers can share data;
- customer portals, so recipients such as shops see deliveries coming;
- carbon visibility, with GLEC-accredited, ISO 14083-compliant emissions calculations (Shippeo);
- AI workflows, added with Logward in 2026, that turn transport events into automatic actions.
How it works
- Connect: carriers share position data through telematics, ELD devices, a driver app or their own systems.
- Clean: Shippeo checks and matches the data to each order from the shipper’s TMS or ERP.
- Predict: machine learning models estimate the arrival time at each stop, up to 48 hours ahead.
- Alert: teams are warned of delays and risks so they can re-plan docks, staff and production.
- Act: Logward workflows can calculate the cost of a delay and trigger re-planning in a TMS automatically.
- Report: emissions are calculated from tracked routes and vehicle data, by mode and carrier.

Impact and numbers
- Retail: Leroy Merlin’s 145 French stores each receive up to 10 deliveries a day from 13 warehouses, more than 200,000 deliveries a year with 180 carriers. After deploying Shippeo’s customer portal in the stores and carrier scorecards, the retailer estimates punctuality rose by 20 points, on-time-in-full deliveries rose 25% and calls between stores, carriers and support fell 25% (Shippeo).
- Prediction: Shippeo’s 2022 ETA release improved accuracy by 32% up to 48 hours before delivery. The company said customers had cut stock-outs or production line halts by as much as 76%, late penalties by 25% and dwell times by 30% (Shippeo).
- Carbon data: Shippeo says its emissions calculations use real tracking data and mode-specific details such as truck and fuel type, reducing over-reporting by up to 73% compared with generic models.
- Growth: the January 2025 round brought total funding above USD 140 million. Shippeo reported a 40% increase in North American customers and 210% year-on-year revenue growth there, and a 53% rise in APAC customers (Shippeo).
- From seeing to acting: at Evonik, a customer of both companies, Shippeo tracks container arrivals and unloading, while a Logward workflow calculates the cost of a delay and triggers re-planning in the TMS to avoid demurrage. Logward was founded in 2018 as a spin-off from German logistics operator Leschaco and employs about 80 people (Supply News). Shippeo justified the deal with Gartner research finding that only 15% of supply chain organisations have achieved measurable returns from AI, and that 80% of leaders see data quality as the main barrier.
Honest caveats. All the performance figures are Shippeo’s or its customers’ own, and “as much as 76%” or “up to 73%” describe best cases, not averages. Shipment numbers vary by source: Faraday Partners cites over 28 million a year, while Shippeo’s 2025 release says more than 90 million, probably reflecting growth and different counting. Better visibility can lower waste, but it also makes road freight more reliable and so more attractive than slower, lower-carbon modes. Shippeo does not publish total emissions avoided across its customers. The terms of the Logward deal were not disclosed in the release, and the Logward brand will be retired as the products merge, which brings integration risk. Shippeo is venture-funded, and one of its backers, Woven Capital, is Toyota’s growth fund, which is worth noting for buyers who prefer independent vendors.
What’s next
Shippeo plans to move quickly to a single platform under its own brand, with Logward’s leaders taking senior roles, and to build “autonomous supply chain execution” on top of trusted transport data. Expansion in North America and Asia-Pacific continues, including tracking in mainland China.
Why it matters for Europe / green buyers
The EU’s CountEmissionsEU rules, Regulation (EU) 2026/1030, entered into force on 1 June 2026, creating a common method aligned with EN ISO 14083:2023 for calculating transport emissions so that disclosed figures are consistent and verifiable (European Commission). For European shippers, primary data from real routes, rather than generic averages, is the way to comply credibly and to compare carriers on carbon in tenders.
India has a direct stake: Logward’s R&D centre is in Bangalore, so part of the combined platform is now built in India. India’s National Logistics Policy, launched in September 2022, aims to bring logistics costs down from about 13% of GDP to a single-digit share (PIB), and real-time visibility, which cuts waiting, penalties and emergency shipments, is one of the cheapest ways for Indian manufacturers and retailers to get there.
